The Electoral Commission of Australia scheduled the Federal Elections to be held on Saturday 18th May 2019. The Electoral Commission of Australia scheduled these elections to form the46th Parliament in Australia. The last and 45th Parliament term was completed last month they called for the elections to form the new Parliament in Australia. The Electoral Commission scheduled this election for both House of Representatives and the Senators.

The Parliament of Australia consists 2 houses one is lower house and the second one is upper house. The lower house is called as the House of Representatives and the upper house is called as House of Senators. The Australian House of representatives consists of 150 members and their term will be for 3 years. The Australian Senate consists of 76 seats and each State contribute 12 senate seats whose term will be for 6 years whereas each Territory has 2 senate positions whose term will be for three years.
